Websites for lawyers, CAs and consultants in Karimnagar

Karimnagar clients look for a lawyer or CA by list, phone number and "best", and the Bar Council of India and ICAI both restrict how members may advertise. Web Start India builds sober, factual websites that carry what each council permits, with contact on WhatsApp or phone.

What clients type into Google

On 10 October 2026 we typed legal and accounting searches into Google from India and read what it suggested. Suggestions shift by day, device and person, and this field returned fewer suggestions than most, so read it as direction, not as a count of searches.

What the Bar Council's rules allow

Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India Rules restricts advocates from advertising and soliciting work. A proviso added in 2008 lets an advocate furnish information on a website as prescribed in a Schedule, under intimation to and as approved by the Bar Council of India. Summaries of the Schedule list name, address, telephone numbers and email, enrolment number and date, the state bar council, bar association membership, professional and academic qualifications, and areas of practice.

Anything outside the Schedule is treated as a breach and can lead to proceedings for misconduct under section 35 of the Advocates Act, 1961. The rule is old and often criticised, and plenty of law-firm sites show more. We build to the Schedule. Ask your state bar council how to intimate and approve your site.

What ICAI's guidelines allow

For chartered accountants the limit comes from ICAI's Website Guidelines, which the Council's advisory of 14 October 2020 calls obligatory, with non-compliance treated as professional misconduct. That advisory lists 29 prohibited items, such as client names and logos, mentions of professional fees or free services, superlatives such as "leading firm" or "best firm", awards, testimonials with a client's name and photographs other than passport-style ones.

ICAI has revised its Code of Ethics since, and summaries say the revised website guidelines apply from 1 April 2026 with changes to what is permitted. Read the current text on ICAI's Ethical Standards Board site before the site goes live.

What we will not build

The rules draw the line for us, so these stay off a lawyer's or a CA's site:

  • Client testimonials, client names and client logos.
  • Fee lists and "free consultation" offers.
  • "Best", "top", "leading" or "No.1".
  • Comparisons with other firms.

How a client finds you without advertising

A client who types a list or a phone-number search is looking for facts. The site can be the most accurate place for them:

  • Your name exactly as enrolled or registered, with qualifications and the year of enrolment or membership.
  • Practice areas in plain words. "Property disputes", "bail", "GST registration and returns", each on a line or a short page, so a search for the matter finds you.
  • Your contact details, identical everywhere. The same phone number and the same spelling of your name on the site, on Google and on any directory that lists you.
  • A way to ask privately. A WhatsApp number and a phone number, with a line on what to include in the first message.

A Google Business Profile with your chamber or office address, timings and number covers the "list" and "phone number" searches. SEO then helps the practice-area pages appear for the matters you handle.

Where to start

A restrained website with your details and practice areas first. Then the Google listing, and the practice-area pages one at a time. Check the draft against your council's current guidelines before you publish, and we will change anything that conflicts with them.

Questions from lawyers, CAs and consultants in Karimnagar

Can lawyers have a website in India?

Yes. Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India Rules restricts advertising and solicitation, and a 2008 proviso allows an advocate to publish website information as prescribed in its Schedule, which covers name, contact details, enrolment details, qualifications and areas of practice. Web Start India keeps a legal site to those items and asks you to confirm the current text with your state bar council.

What should a chartered accountant's website include?

A chartered accountant's website should state qualifications and membership details, the services offered such as tax, audit and compliance, and how to make an enquiry. ICAI's website guidelines are mandatory and list items a member's site must not carry, so Web Start India builds to that list.

Can an advocate or a chartered accountant show client testimonials?

No. ICAI's advisory of 14 October 2020 lists testimonials with a client's name as prohibited, and the Bar Council's rule allows an advocate's website only the particulars its Schedule names. A professional's website is safer carrying qualifications, practice areas and contact details than praise from clients.

Can a chartered accountant mention fees on the website?

ICAI's 2020 advisory lists mentioning professional fees, or saying that services are free of charge, among the items a member's website must not carry. Fees are better discussed on the call. Check the current text of the guidelines, which ICAI has revised since.
